Another New Year |
| |
We wish a happy and successful New Year to all our customers and friends.
Well, here we are again, another New Year and it’s all go!
The long awaited extension to the workshop is well under way, giving us
another 2,000 ft², with room for a couple more lifts and designated work
bays.
We are busy carrying out the usual engine and transmission rebuilds and car
preps for the coming season. The Ferrari bare chassis rebuilds are well
under way for this year.
The engine Dyno facility is proving to be a great asset, with some pretty
interesting customers’ engines coming in for running and setting up. So, if
you would like that little bit more from your engine development, pick up
the phone and call Tim or Jay to discuss your requirements.
It looks like being another busy season. We plan to contest the Le Mans
Classic, Goodwood Revival, Mille Miglia, British GP, some 50s Sportscars,
HGPCA and Gentlemen Drivers. Again, if we can be of assistance for either a
one-off event or a series, please get in touch. We are expanding our
customer base with the extra facilities we have available.

Silverstone F1 Grand Prix Support Race |
| |
Once again we
contested the Ferrari Dino 246S in the F1 Grand Prix Historic support race.
Piloted by Peter Hardman in scorching hot weather the car qualified P2 in
the 30 Minute Saturday practice session.
Sunday and the weather was even hotter, Peter made a fantastic start off the
line taking the lead before the first corner. However Philip Walker in his
Lotus 15 was hot on he's heals and took P1 away on Lap 3. The little Dino
put up a valiant fight much to the spectators enjoyment and finished in P2
just a few seconds behind the Lotus.
We hope to be returning back to Silverstone at the end of the Month with The
Dino and the Aston DBR1 for the 1950's Sportscar race which is part of the
Silverstone Historic weekend - Don't Miss It !

2004 Spa & Nordschleife Track Days |
| |
Last
November we attended an end-of-year Track day extravaganza hosted by our
good friends the RMA. Two days at the fantastic Spa-Francorchamps race
circuit followed by two days at the notorious Nordschleife. For the event
the team took five cars, A Ferrari F50, 330LMB and 246S Dino, our BMW M5
Track Car and the Pro-Sports 3000 Spider, an old favourite of ours for
these events.
The Team, Drivers and Guests all had a great time over the four days despite
rain & sub-zero temperatures. We've just posted a new Gallery with images
from all four days curtsey of Paul Jarmyn and Fotografia-Corse,
which can check out
here.
We're attending a RMA
Trackday at Silverstone on the 19th of April so if anyone wants to see a
collection of great cars in a non competitive environment then please come
along. For more information on RMA Trackdays please check out their
website.

Shell Historic
Ferrari Challenge - Monza Finals
2004 |
| |
What better
place than that temple of Italian speed the Monza Autodromo to hold last
years final round of the Shell Historic Ferrari Challenge 2004. As usual,
for this last event the grid was very large and made of of some very
impressive Italian racing machinery including our own Ferrari P3 and the
little 206 P.
The Weather helped to make the whole weekend 'interesting' switching from
sunny periods to downpours, this however didn't stop the P3 from starting
the race at the front of the grid and, piloted by its owner going on to win
its class for the championship.
Paul Jarmyn and Fotografia-Corse, captured some great images of this busy
but spectacular weekend on camera, you can view the photos in our Gallery
section or click

3rd-5th September 2004
- Goodwood Revival |
| |
This
proved to be our busiest event of the year, in total we had 9 cars attending
the event consisting of two Ferrari 330 LMB's and a 250 GTO racing in the
Tourist Trophy. Two Aston Martin DBR1's and the Ferrari 246 Dino racing in
the Sussex Trophy. Two Ford GT40's which were used as course cars for the
three days of racing and a Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato which was used as the
safety car in the TT Race.
The cars owners and the teams usual Goodwood drivers, Peter Hardman and Tony Dron were joined
this year by Jackie Oliver, Mike Salmon and Gerry Marshall making for some
close and spectacular racing.

23rd-25th July
2004 -
Le Mans Classic |
| |
The
team went to the home of European endurance racing, Le Mans in sunny France
for the 2004 Le Mans Classic. The Event which this year was made up of
over 360 cars racing in 6 different grids is a fantastic opportunity to see
cars spanning just about every era racing in the day and night on this
famous circuit. This year we entered the 1959 Le Mans winning Aston
DBR1 and a the Ferrari 246 Dino.
As usual we had Peter Hardman and Tony Dron at hand to pilot the cars along
with Dr Ulrich Bez (CEO of Aston Martin) and the cars owner.
Both cars did well in qualifying with the Dino taking pole which led the
night race until the mandatory pit stop when unfortunately we were held at
the pit exit because of the safety car. We lost a whole lap while waiting
for it come around again. During the following mornings race, we suffered
gear box problems with the DBR1 and had to retire it.
With only the Dino
left running, Tony and Peter joined forces for the last race and went on to
win it which contributed to winning the Overall Team Prize.

11th July 2004
- Silverstone F1 Grand
Prix - Historic Support Race |
| |
Once again,
the little Ferrari Dino 246S driven by Peter Hardman in the 2004 British
Grand Prix, Historic Sportscar support race at Silverstone showed what a great chassis this
unique car has. Starting from pole position, the little Ferrari was
immediately mugged by the bigger engined cars and dropped to 5th, but we
knew this would be the case. Sure enough, once Peter was up to speed he was
able to start reclaiming positions and by lap four he was back in the
lead and went on to win the race by over ten seconds.

25th-27th June 2004
- Goodwood Festival of
Speed |
| |
We
have been attending the Goodwood festival of Speed for the last 10 Years,
each year we bring a selection of our cars, This year we took the the
1959 Le-Mans winning Aston DBR1 and the amazing beautiful Ferrari P3 to the
now famous hill climb.
As always, Peter Hardman pleased the crowds with his sideways driving style
in the Aston DBR1, then opting to do a timed run in the P3, he set the 2nd
fastest run of the weekend with a time of 0:47:210. This was the first time that our Ferrari
412/P3 Chassis No
0844 has been seen running in the UK.
You'll have a second chance to see
& hear the P3 in all its glory later in the year at the Donington round of the Shell Historic Ferrari Challenge.
